How They Are Made: Recycled Skateboard Pins

Cutting Up the Skateboard

First, a used skateboard is cut into strips.

Starting Blocks

Next, those strips are cut into cubes and then split in half along the ply.

Then, a design is drawn on or a template is used. That design is then cut out and sanded.

Starting to Take Shape

This is what the pieces look like before painting.

Each pin is hand painted, so every one is going to be unique.

Finishing Touches

Each pin is clear coated 7 times; rendered glossy and ready to stand the test of time.
